Omega WWW Dirty Dozen from around 1948, produced for the English army. Steel case with 35mm fixed lugs excluding crown, in excellent condition. Scratch-free plexi glass. The models original oversized push-in crown. Black dial with Omega logo, the typical arrow symbol of English government ownership, Arabic numerals and luminous dots on the hours, small seconds counter at 6 oclock and railway minute track characteristic of military watches. Original sword-shaped hands of the model. The luminous points and hands were retritiated in an unknown period. Originally they were made of radium, then over the years on most of these watches, during periodic maintenance, the radium was removed and replaced. Caseback with the typical markings of the model: WWW the arrow symbol of English government ownership, the military serial number and the Omega serial number. It features the famous and robust Omega 30T2 caliber. Inside, a ring between the case and movement is missing and normal screws have been used to fix the movement to the case. The watch was serviced a few months ago, the watchmakers work note is available. It works perfectly. It is all original and in excellent condition (see photos). It has a handcrafted single stripe RAF style brown leather strap. The WWW (Waterproof Wirst Watch) was specified and requested by the British Ministry of Defence. Twelve watchmakers (hence the nickname Dirty Dozen) including Omega, responded to the request and each supplied their own WWW model to the British armed forces. An iconic watch, among the best known and appreciated by military watch enthusiasts and Omega lovers
