Its a non-hacking movement like most traditional Seiko calibers and has a quickset date only calendar mechanism. By the late 1980s, Seiko had changed the case design of the divers from the earlier large cushion shape to a slimmed-down case. When the 7002 divers replaced the 6309s, they inherited the small case design from the 6309-7290. The 7002 series came out after the end of production of the 6309 series diver and ran from approx. 1988 to 1996. There are several different variations of the 7002 divers and this one the 7002-7000 is identical to the others with the vintage divers distinctive look. It is in excellent restored condition. THE 7002-7000 IS A 17 JEWEL MODEL WITH A BLACK DIAL. IT WAS MANUFACTURED IN MARCH,1995 Case: Original beautiful condition , lightly hand polished all stainless steel case with no dings or dents. Size is 41.5MM Original Crystal , in excellent condition with no scratches. Dial - New black Seiko dial,hands and markers in perfect condition, with excellent lume(see pictures) Original automatic Japan Movement Caliber 7002. A time tested Seiko workhorse movement(serviced) Bezel- Original,with new black insert ,has silver numerals,rotates bidirectionally & smoothly,with clicks.It is in excellent condition Crown is an original screw in locking water- resistant type This watch was restored to near original condition by a watchmaker. It was serviced & timed. It was not tested for water resistance and should not be considered as so.I would NOT submerge in water//splashes/rain ok as gaskets and seals replaced. If you really like this beautiful piece, and plan to swim or snorkel I would have the watch re-pressurized. It is a terrific value for a classic automatic diving watch. It will continue for years to come, to be an accurate and handsome,functional timepiece **Please remember these are NOT new automatic watches even though it has been serviced, you will have to gently shake the watch in a clockwise or counter clockwise movement to get the rotor working properly. This is especially true when the watch has not been worn for some time. Reserve power has to build up to keep the watch running when not worn.. +/_ 3-4 minutes during a 48 hour period is considered acceptable for these type automatics.If you have many automatic watches and dont wear the same one frequently, I suggest buying an automatic watch winder, this way your watch will always be ready to wear. *This info. is all normal for any older automatic watch *Just a personal note: you may see many of these 7002s on ebay..Most coming from overseas.
