This is a watch that a real Eterna collector just cannot pass up. Art Deco at its best, from one of the finest vintage watch companies. All original and well-preserved 18K solid gold early exploding numbers dial tank watch. Has just been fully serviced. A vintage Eterna with a very early 2.1 million serial number on the gilt-finish movement. The hinged case is signed ETERNA and is hallmarked for 18K gold on the inside and outside edge as well. Very attractive blued steel original hands. Fancy original winding crown. Just the epitome of the tank watch style from this era. Beautiful painted black enamel exaggerated numbers on the dial. Fixed wire lugs. All of the early attributes that make these special tank watches so collectible. Original curved glass crystal and winding crown. This watch was designed without a seconds hand. This 100-year-old watch has pretty minor condition issues considering its age. The case is stunning, with cut corners and chamfered edges. It is near perfect, with no dings or only a few very tiny, light scratches on the back. The glass crystal has chips and light scratches. The original dial has light enamel loss in some of the numbers. Keep in mind, when you make your offer, that the 13 grams of 18K gold in the case alone is worth nearly $600. Either 16mm or 17mm open-ended bands will look just fine on this watch. We are including a vintage New Old Stock open-ended 16mm strap that is a lightly padded black sharkskin pattern leather band by Hirsch. You can install the band easily by wrapping the ends through the fixed lugs and gluing the ends together. We have many other open-ended bands in stock if youd like to swap the strap or upgrade to an Exotic Skin band.
