Vintage 10K Gold Filled Hamilton 17J 987A Manual Wristwatch ca.1937. This Hamilton has a gold filled case measuring approximately 30mm long (39mm lug to lug) x 27mm wide x 7mm thick with 16mm lugs. The case has surface wear throughout. The white, lightly textured dial has gold Arabic numerals, gold hands, a seconds register at six oclock and is marked Hamilton. The dial has some aging but is in good condition. This watch is missing its crystal. I will carefully package the watch when shipping. The inside case is stamped Hamilton W. Co. - 10K Gold Filled - Lancaster, PA. - 1133758. The movement is stamped Hamilton - U.S.A. - O31807 - 987A - 17 Jewels. All screws and jewels are in good condition. This manual watch is crown wind and set. Watch is running approximately 2 - 3 minutes slow. No guarantee of future performance. 1930s Art Deco Hamilton Greenwich 14k WGF watch, 987-F movement, Needs service. The watch starts and stops, it is in need of a service. Classic vintage 1930’s man’s Hamilton Greenwich model. Featuring 28 X 34mm cushion shaped case with stepped art deco style bezel, With patina’d original matte silver dial with aged luminous indexes and thermally blue hands. Powered by caliber 987F 17 jewel manual wind movement with subsidiary seconds. A classic early model from America’s premier manufacturer of wristwatches. A vintage model with a lot of character. The Greenwich came in yellow or white gold filled cases with several choices for dials. You will find AGN dials like in the catalog image, as well as enamel dials and luminous dials too. The case is very typical for the 1930s with stepped levels on the bezel that carry through to the center section of the three-piece case. Its a sharp looking watch and popular with collectors since its not overly rare but is still a classic art deco design. Trying to get good examples with all dial types would be a fun collecting challenge. It is on an era correct Hadley expanding strap which is made of Stainless Steel.
